Rifton Support Station (K710)
The Rifton Support Station is a distinctively innovative device that enables both assisted and unassisted hygiene care for individuals who can bear weight partially while standing. Highly valued in educational and care facilities, it simplifies life for both users and caregivers by enhancing the safety and ease of transfers.
This versatile tool is available in both fixed and pivot configurations. The pivot feature permits users to rotate 90 degrees and smoothly lower themselves onto a toilet, wheelchair, bath chair, or other locations, whether independently or with assistance. Beyond its application in the restroom, the Support Station is useful in any environment that necessitates pivot transfers and transitions from sitting to standing, and is also ideal for facilitating quick clothing changes.

Self-Assisted Transfers
Even people with limited
weight-bearing ability can participate
in their own personal care.
Adjustable Height and Tilt
The trunk board height from the floor is clearly marked with numbered calibrations. To adjust the height, use the lower pair of black handles located on the Support Station frame.
Weightless Transfers
With the trunk board adjusted to a nearly horizontal position, the Support Station can accommodate even large, non-weight-bearing users for toilet transfers.
Folds For Storage
The Support Station conveniently folds up flat against the wall for storage when not in use.
Pivot or Fixed Configurations
Fixed Configuration
The Support Station is commonly utilized in its fixed configuration, which includes a kneeboard. This configuration does not pivot, and the kneeboard offers leverage for the user during transfers.
The padded trunk board’s height and angle can be adjusted to suit the user’s needs. In this position, the user remains upright and leans forward, facilitating clothing adjustments, hygiene care, or transfers to a rolling commode or shower chair.
Pivot Configuration
For users with adequate lower-body strength, the Support Station can be set to pivot mode without the kneeboard. This configuration facilitates transfers from a wheelchair to a fixed toilet. The padded trunk board in this setup can rotate 180 degrees, with a pivot latch operable by either the caregiver or the user. Supported by the trunk board, users can rotate 90 degrees and then lower themselves onto the toilet.
For installation instructions for both configurations of the Support Station, please consult the product manual.
Support Station Benefits
Enhanced Independence and Dignity
The Support Station allows individuals, even those with limited weight-bearing capacity, to actively participate in their personal care, promoting greater independence.
Increased Safety for Caregivers
By avoiding the need for mat or table transfers, the Support Station reduces the physical strain on caregivers through less lifting.
Strength and Skill Development
The Support Station turns toileting into an opportunity for users to practice transfers, aiding in the development of their strength and skills.
Efficiency in Hygiene Practices
The Support Station offers a quicker alternative to traditional horizontal hygiene methods, saving valuable time.
Versatility Beyond Toileting
It facilitates the sit-to-stand transition in various settings, allows users to assist in stand-pivot transfers from wheelchairs to adaptive chairs, and supports them in maintaining an upright position for clothing changes before activities like swimming.
Safety Details
Adjustable Height and Tilt
The frame and upholstery of the Support Station are made from antimicrobial materials, designed to facilitate thorough and effortless cleaning.
Upright Positioning
The trunk board of the Support Station can be adjusted vertically along the posts, allowing it to be positioned horizontally, vertically, or at any angle in between with respect to the floor. This feature enables the user to adopt a more upright posture.
